The National CSIA AGM was heralded as a resounding success. The event was held in Winnipeg on Dec 9th 2006. This was the first time the National AGM has been held in the Central Region. More that 70 members attended the fun and information filled event at the Fort Garry Hotel. Guest speaker David Telles-Langdon entertained and gathering with some learned stories pertaining to how members unknowingly shape the lives of those we teach.

Mr Glenn Allen took the membership down memory lane with a slide show presentation that gandered giggles of recognition and memories of time gone by. Members of the National Board of Directors and Staff conducted the AGM followed by a very active CSIA Store front. Members mingled with National Staff and Board members and shared information, comments and questions long into the late evening.

The event lead into the sold out weekend Central Members Convention with skiing at Spring Hill and Holiday Mountain resorts. Here Demo team member and PDP co-ordinator Warren Jobbitt lead this crew complied of Jeff Marks, Paul Canius and special guest Western Program Director Vincent Lafontine with members updates and ski improvement sessions. Once again course conductors seemed to get as much from the fun loving Central members as the members did from the sessions!

Unfortunately Jeff Marks fell victim to one of Manitoba’s savage snow snakes injuring his shoulder. Eye witness accounts say Jeff put up a brilliant display of agility before being felled by the creature. Thankfully his injury is slight and all of Central wishes him a speedy recovery.

Search continues for new CSIA National CEO. The Board of Directors assisted by the HR Firm of Dakka are continuing their search for a new CEO for the CSIA. Chairman of the board Neil Tanner says the first round of interviews were completed in Montreal in late November early December 06. Mr Tanner says that other candidates are to be interviewed in the coming months and that a replacement is hopefully found by Spring 07.

Mr Tanner says that the Board of Directors the is hiring committee are looking for a well rounded Chief Executive Officer to move the organization forward into the future.
